At BillCalc, our goal is to provide transparent, easy-to-understand, and practical utility bill calculators that help consumers estimate electricity, water, and PNG gas bills with confidence. Every calculator on our platform follows a structured methodology designed to reflect the billing rules, tariff settings, and supported billing components configured for the respective utility provider.
Since every electricity board, water utility, municipal corporation, and PNG gas provider follows its own billing methodology, each BillCalc calculator is individually configured to reflect the applicable published tariff structure and supported billing components reviewed during our update process.
How Our Calculators Work
Every BillCalc calculator follows a consistent calculation process:
- Enter your consumption, billing period, or other required billing details.
- Select your applicable connection type whenever multiple connection categories are available.
- The calculator applies the configured tariff slabs, billing rules, and supported charges based on your inputs.
- Where available, users can optionally customize billing settings before calculating their estimate.
- An estimated bill is generated together with a detailed breakdown of every applicable billing component.
Our objective is not only to estimate the final payable amount but also to help users understand how different billing components contribute to their utility bill.
Tariff Configuration
Every calculator comes with pre-configured billing settings that are reviewed before publication and during subsequent updates. Depending on the utility provider, these settings may include tariff slabs, connection categories, fixed charges, demand charges, minimum charges, meter charges, fuel adjustment charges, electricity duty, water charges, sewerage charges, taxes, surcharges, rebates, and other published billing components where applicable.
Because billing methodologies differ between utility providers, the billing components available in one calculator may not be available in another.
Optional Billing Customization
Many BillCalc calculators include an optional Billing Customization feature. While every calculator includes pre-configured billing settings reviewed during our update process, users can customize supported connection types, tariff slabs, fixed charges, taxes, rebates, fuel adjustment charges, meter charges, and other supported billing components whenever their billing category or utility-specific charges differ.
This feature allows users to compare different billing scenarios, estimate bills using updated tariff values, and configure supported billing settings that more closely match their own utility bills while keeping the default configuration available for general use.

Where applicable, tariff information is reviewed against publications issued by the respective utility provider or regulatory authority before being configured within the calculator. Every calculator is also tested using multiple calculation scenarios to verify that the implemented billing methodology follows the reviewed tariff structure as closely as reasonably possible.
Keeping Our Calculators Updated
Utility providers may revise tariff rates, billing methodologies, taxes, surcharges, or other billing components from time to time. Whenever significant updates become publicly available, we review the revised information and update the corresponding calculators as soon as reasonably possible.
If a recent tariff revision has not yet been incorporated into a calculator, users can use the optional Billing Customization feature to configure supported billing settings and estimate their bills using the latest applicable values.
Calculation Limitations
BillCalc provides estimated utility bills for informational purposes only. Actual bills issued by electricity boards, water utilities, municipal corporations, or PNG gas providers may differ due to factors such as billing frequency (monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, or utility-specific billing cycles), arrears, government subsidies, rebates, taxes, late payment charges, security deposits, meter reading adjustments, rounding policies, service-specific charges, or future tariff revisions.
For this reason, users should always refer to the official bill issued by their respective utility provider as the final and authoritative statement of charges.
