Every calculator on our platform is developed using tariff information and billing methodologies reviewed from publicly available sources, including official utility providers, tariff orders, and regulatory publications where available.

Our goal is to help consumers estimate electricity, water, and PNG gas bills with confidence while maintaining transparency about where our information comes from and how it is reviewed.

Sources We Use

Depending on the utility provider, we may review information from one or more of the following publicly available sources before publishing or updating a calculator:

How We Review the Information

Before a calculator is published or updated, our team carefully reviews the available tariff information, billing components, and calculation methodology. We compare the published billing rules with our calculator logic and perform multiple test calculations using different consumption values to verify that the configured billing methodology works as intended.

Whenever tariff revisions or billing policy updates become publicly available, we review the changes and update the corresponding calculators as soon as reasonably possible.

Utility-Specific Tariffs

Electricity distribution companies, water utilities, municipal corporations, and PNG gas providers may follow different tariff structures, billing rules, taxes, and additional charges. For this reason, every calculator on BillCalc is configured individually to reflect the billing methodology applicable to that specific utility wherever possible.

Optional Billing Customization

Every BillCalc calculator includes an optional Customize Billing feature. While every calculator comes with pre-configured tariff settings reviewed during our update process, users can customize supported billing settings to better match their utility bill. Depending on the calculator, this may include modifying tariff slabs, fixed charges, taxes, rebates, fuel adjustment charges, meter charges, and other billing components. Users can also create custom billing configurations by adding their own connection type where supported. This feature provides additional flexibility while keeping the default tariff configuration available for general use.

Our Commitment to Reliable Data

We regularly monitor publicly available information from utility providers and update our calculators whenever significant tariff revisions or billing changes are identified. However, utility providers may modify tariffs, taxes, billing policies, or service charges without prior notice. As a result, temporary differences may occasionally occur between our estimated calculations and the final bill issued by the utility provider.
