About MVVNL
Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (MVVNL) is one of the five power distribution companies under Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL). It supplies electricity across the central region of Uttar Pradesh, covering districts such as Lucknow, Ayodhya, Bareilly, Budaun, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur, Hardoi, Sitapur, Unnao, Bahraich, Shrawasti, Balrampur, Gonda, Barabanki, Rae Bareli, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar and Amethi.
MVVNL started functioning as an independent distribution company in July 2003 after the unbundling of the erstwhile Uttar Pradesh State Electricity Board. How the Bill is Calculated
MVVNL electricity bills follow the tariff order issued by the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC). The main components of a typical domestic bill are:
- Energy charges calculated according to slab-wise consumption
- Fixed or demand charges based on sanctioned load
- Electricity duty as applicable
- Any fuel and power purchase adjustment surcharge, late payment surcharge or other statutory levies when they apply
